MAKE A BOOT DISK FROM DOS

You probably know the way to create a boot disk, or startup disk, within Windows: click the Start button, then Settings, Control Panel, and double click Add/Remove Programs. Next click on the Startup Disk tab and click on the button for Create Disk. But sometimes you may not be able to get into Windows. If you can boot into DOS, you will most likely be able to create one by typing these two DOS commands at the prompt (only in Windows 98, not Windows 95):

cd \windows\command
bootdisk a:

The disk will be formatted and then all necessary files will be copied to it, just as if you'd done it in Control Panel in Windows. If you don't have the bootdisk.bat batch file in your Windows\Command folder, then if you can get the use of a computer that connects to the internet, you can download all the files necessary for creating a boot disk at this web site:
